Thank you so much for visiting the website. Yes, I have closed the Kernersville store. The rent was higher then what we could afford and continue to sustain ourselves. It happens, and I have no regrets. I appreciate every person who walked through our doors.
Although I am not ruling out opening another store down the road, for the moment, it isn't economically feasible. Therefore, we have decided to launch an online store, but have changed the name to The Symbology Store (www.TheSymbologyStore.com).
There are several reasons for the name change. One, we will not be able to stock clothing at least not for awhile. Clothing
takes up a lot of space and we are working the online store from home.
So "wearable" doesn't quite fit any longer. The second reason is that
The Wearable Planet is available for franchising. We already have
locations in the works in other states. So it seemed like a name change
was needed. We will carry many of the things we carried in the WP, like the oil burner oils you loved, and some of the incenses. There will also be many many new items. Our prices will be lower which is very cool! Let's face it..... home has much lower overhead! So we invite you to visit the new online store, in your jammies!
What will never change is my mission: to bring you ethically made, earth friendly products to nourish your mind, body and spirit. That means no slave labor, child labor or inhumane labor of any kind. We will work with companies who support a living wage and safe work environment for craftspersons as well as factory workers around the world. We will also continue our efforts working with environmental, humanitarian, and animal protection groups locally and across the globe.
In the meantime, if you are on our mailing list, we will keep you posted about the possibility of a new physical Wearable Planet location. If you are NOT on our list and would like to be, please visit the new store online and click on the newsletter link. Of course you always have the option of removing your name from the list. Nothing more annoying then getting email you don't want!
